Tadaland x PJai & Friends: A Space Odyssey Built Through Story and Connection

Tadaland and PJai & Friends — two original character IPs from Hong Kong — came together to explore how storytelling can shape design, connection, and brand collaboration. Through a campaign built on character interactions and a capsule collection inspired by a light‑hearted space adventure, the partnership demonstrates how world‑building can bring two creative universes into one shared narrative.

 

Background

In late 2025, Tadaland and ad‑lib’s PJai & Friends launched a story‑led campaign built around character interactions. 

Through a series of light‑hearted posts, PJai — with his “go with the flow” ISFP personality — stepped into Tadaland’s personality world and began connecting with characters like Apollo, Jolly, and Micah. These posts formed the narrative foundation of the collaboration, establishing a shared space where two local IPs could coexist and grow.


Insight

The campaign revealed a key truth: audiences respond most deeply when characters feel like they genuinely belong together. The interactions between PJai and the Tadamates felt natural and believable, allowing both brand universes to overlap without force. When characters connect, the story between brands can evolve naturally.

 

Creative Direction

While the campaign focused on everyday character interactions, the product design phase opened a new creative direction. 

As we explored how the two IPs could coexist visually, a light‑hearted space adventure emerged as a natural extension of their personalities. PJai’s relaxed nature, Apollo’s calm introspection, and Jolly’s playful optimism inspired a whimsical cosmic journey — not a mission, but an imaginative trip among friends. This design‑led theme became the foundation of the capsule collection.

 


Execution

The capsule collection includes six items across adult tees, kids’ tees, and accessories. Tadaland’s store highlighted three hero pieces:

  • Moonwalk Club Pocket TeeApollo, Jolly, and PJai floating in a pocket detail.
  • Space Odyssey Tee — A front‑to‑back illustration of the space journey of the Tadamates and PJai.
  • Carry Me to the Stars Denim Tote — A star‑system composition with PJai at the center, with Apollo, Roro, and Jolly orbiting around him.


Outcome

The collaboration delivered long‑term value through deepened character narratives, a shared universe between two local IPs, a repeatable collaboration model, and extendable IP assets.

 

Conclusion
