IVE MBTI: The Introvert-Heavy Girl Group

IVE breaks the pattern most people expect from a stadium-filling girl group: the types most commonly listed for the six members skew heavily introverted. Yujin is usually given as ISTP, Gaeul as ISTJ, Rei as INFJ, Liz as INTP, Leeseo as ESTP and Wonyoung as ENTJ — and two of those, Liz and Leeseo, are widely noted as having changed from an earlier result. It is one of the more interesting type spreads in K-pop, and also one of the messiest, so it is worth separating what members have actually said from what fandom has filled in.

IVE members' MBTI types at a glance

Member Commonly listed type How solid is it? Tadamate match
An Yujin ISTP Widely and consistently reported. Nico
Gaeul ISTJ Widely and consistently reported. Beanie
Rei INFJ Widely reported and stable across sources. Roro
Jang Wonyoung ENTJ (uncertain) Weakest claim here. She has confirmed the E and said she could not remember the rest. ENFP also circulates. Treat as unsettled. Dante, if ENTJ holds
Liz INTP (previously INFP) Changed result; both are commonly listed. Cappu-Cappu, previously Apollo
Leeseo ESTP (previously ENFP) Changed result, and a large jump. Older fan charts still show ENFP. Hoola, previously Jolly

Everything above is either self-reported by the member or attributed by fan communities from broadcast clips. None of it is a verified fact about who these people are, and we would rather label the uncertainty than tidy it away.

Four introvert results in a group this size

Nico the ISTP Tadamate character representing IVE's An Yujin MBTI Personality Type Tadaland

If the common listings are right, four of six members are I-types. That cuts against the assumption that performing at that scale requires an extrovert result, and it is a useful thing for readers to see.

Stage presence is a skill. Social recharging is a preference. They are not the same axis, and conflating them is the single most common mistake in K-pop MBTI content. A member can command a stadium and still need the van ride home to be silent. Plenty of them have said as much.

This is also why "introvert" is such a badly used word online. It does not mean shy, awkward, or bad at their job. It describes where someone's energy comes back, not how much of it they have.

Yujin as ISTP: the leader who does not perform leading

ISTP as a self-description tends to mean practical, unbothered, direct, and allergic to fuss — someone who solves the problem in front of them without narrating it. For a leader, that reads as calm rather than commanding. Our ISTP Tadamate is Nico, who we describe as the one who has already fixed it while everyone else was still discussing it.

Rei as INFJ: the rarest listing in the group

Roro the INFJ Tadamate character representing IVE's Rei MBTI Personality Type Tadaland

INFJ is usually cited as the least common of the sixteen types, so it turns up in fan attributions more often than it probably should — it is a flattering label. In Rei's case it has been stable across sources for a long time, which is about as much confidence as this genre allows.

The INFJ pattern is warmth with a plan behind it: reading the room accurately, caring in a targeted way, and holding a firm private line about what matters. Our INFJ Tadamate is Roro.

The Wonyoung problem

Wonyoung is the most-searched member and has the least settled type, which is a frustrating combination if you want a clean chart.

What she has actually confirmed publicly is the first letter: E. Beyond that she has said she could not remember her result. Fandom has filled the gap in both directions — ENTJ appears on most profile sites, ENFP is popular in fan posts — and neither has a solid public source behind it.

We would rather leave that cell honestly half-empty. If she gives a full result later, we will update this guide and say when it changed, which is the policy we apply to every group guide on this site.

Two changed results, and what they actually mean

Liz is commonly listed as INTP now and INFP before. Leeseo as ESTP now and ENFP before. Fans sometimes treat a change like this as evidence that MBTI is nonsense, or that somebody lied.

The more boring explanation is usually right. Retesting genuinely does move results for a large share of people, and the letter that moves is almost always the one they were nearest the middle on to begin with. Liz's shift is a single letter, F to T — a textbook borderline flip. Leeseo's is bigger, and a bigger jump is more likely to mean a different test, a different mood, or an answer given for a laugh on camera.

None of that makes the framework useless. It just means a four-letter result is a description someone gave of themselves once, not a permanent label. Read it with the date attached.

Which IVE member shares your type?

If your result is Your IVE match What you probably share
ISTP Yujin You fix things quietly and find meetings about the fix baffling.
ISTJ Gaeul You are the reason the group's plans survive contact with reality.
INFJ Rei You read the room in seconds and say almost none of it out loud.
INTP Liz You would like to answer the question properly or not at all.
ESTP Leeseo You commit first and work out the details on the way.
ENTJ Wonyoung, provisionally You have a five-year plan and it is going well, thank you.

Ten of the sixteen types have no IVE counterpart at all, which is worth saying out loud — no six-person group can cover the range. You can meet all sixteen on our Tadamates page and find yours there instead.

How to use this guide well

Take it as a conversation starter, not a verdict. The genuinely useful move is not "I am the same as Rei" — it is noticing that a group this successful runs on six quite different operating styles, and that the differences are the point rather than a problem to be solved.

That is the same argument we make about your own group chat, your flat, and your office. If you want the version of this written for people rather than idols, our piece on why you click with some people instantly is the place to start, and our LE SSERAFIM guide follows the same format as this one.

An editorial note

MBTI-style typing is a framework for conversation and self-reflection, not a clinical or scientific assessment. It should not be used for hiring, streaming students, or making decisions about anyone's future. Real people's types on this site are always labelled as self-reported or fan-attributed, and we date our guides so you can see when a claim was made.
